News for February 2012Paul Weinrebe; salesman fitted Sox players’ clothing- Wednesday February 29th, 2012
Paul Weinrebe, a founding member of Temple Beth Am in Framingham, traveled New England as a clothing salesman, and opened his home to Red Sox players who needed special fittings. After 50 years as a salesman, Mr. Weinrebe often engaged in conversations with salespeople and told his children, “Be nice to the sales clerks. They don’t get paid much and they work really hard.’’ Mr. Weinrebe died Feb. 18 in UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. He was 96.

Red Sox outfielder Ryan Kalish on Wednesday threw for the first time this spring. Kalish, who had offseason surgeries on his neck and left shoulder that will leave him unavailable until June, made about 30 throws from about 45 feet, as the recovery process continues.
