Francona book excerpt: The 2004 ALCS

Saturday January 26th, 2013
Boston Red Sox: Francona book excerpt: The 2004 ALCS Today, we're able to bring you the first of two excerpts from the audiobook version of the new book written by former Red Sox manager Terry Francona and the Globe's Dan Shaughnessy.
The audiobook version of "Francona: The Red Sox Years" is read by Jeff Gurner and includes an exclusive interview with Francona and Shaughnessy.
This first excerpt, from Chapter 7, is about the first few games of the 2004 American League Championship Series and culminates with a kerfuffle between Curt Schilling's wife and Johnny Damon's fiancee after Game 3.
On Sunday, we'll have an excerpt from Chapter 14 that deals with the upper management decision-making after the 2010 season after a marketing survey provides reasons why interest in the Red Sox was declining.
The audiobook is on sale now ($39.99).
